NEW GISMU LIST (and Logflash files) posted to FTP site

I have posted to the ftp site at casper.cs.yale.edu the result of my
hopefully final pass over the gismu list before dictionary publication.
The file is in the main /pub/lojban directory as gismu.c93, but John
Cowan may be moving this, perhaps to the /draft subdirectory.

I have reviewed all comments I received on previous lists, and made
several revisions and clarifications to place structures. In many
cases, I have proposed lujvo which I think will help clarify the meaning
of the underlying gismu. I have added in hundreds of English synonyms
that will help form the basis of a much better English-to-Lojban list,
to appear in the dictionary. All lujvo have been verified for
well-formedness (though Nick will be reviewing them for quality and
consistency with his analysis), and the file has been spell-checked,
unlike any previous gismu list (boy was THAT fun!)

There is one substantive issue to be resolved, on which I am posting
separately.

gismu with substantive place structure or meaning changes since approx.
July when I posted the last list to the ftp site have an = in column
158. An earlier set of changes, from last years list until I made a new
list in June or July, has an * in column 158. These flags are the ones
that people should probably focus on - there are about 100 words with
"=", and another 70 with "*", so this is a substantial revision for
those heavily into the nitty-gritty of place structures. I can't
characterize changes too much further - there is probably a small
reduction in total places based on Jorge's campaign against fat lujvo,
and there have been agent places removed from some gismu.

Comments are of course welcome, especially if you don't like something
that was changed. The level of resistance to new comments, though, will
be significantly higher. I will be moving on to other areas of the
dictionary, giving people perhaps a month for comments, maybe more if I
continue to have schedule problems like I have.

I am also posting a set of LogFlash data files compatible with the newer
version of LogFlash. You unfortunately will have to rebuild your
personal lesson files (the ones with your name+h/l+.lf1) to use this
list, since there are some changes to the order of words in the file. I
would appreciate if anyone using the old files who got out of new word
review mode and into the later modes (gaining control, maintenance, or
brush-up modes), send me these old files before deleting them, as they
may have usable statistics embedded in them. You probably don't need to
go to the new files unless you are focussing on rafsi or place
structures while studying the words - there are a couple of
clarificational keyword changes, but none of these are really
substantive since that would have required a more formal baseline
review.

These files are "zip"ped and will be found in lf1293.zip
