The "fu" is not necessary there, since the "fo" has
already been taken care of.

This alternative style of conversion was considered way back in the olden
days of Loglan, and turns out not to work as often.  The
"Fv [sumti] [selbri] fa ....
covers it at the cost of two syllables which is likely what any cmavo
assigned to the job would take.

One reason for "the way things are" is for descriptions.
"le ve klama"
the route of going
If you want to add a place it is indeed the x2 that is the most common:
le ve klama be le xarci
"the route to the store"
and not
le ve klama be fa mi
"the route gone by me (to someplace unstated)"

because context usually supplies the x1 in descriotion situations.
