Its origin or point of isolation is unknown. Exunt is a non-resident direct action infector of .COM programs, though it does not infect all .COM programs. When a program infected with the Exunt virus is executed, the Exunt virus may infect one .COM program located in the current directory. Infected programs will have a file length increase of 148 bytes with the virus being located at the end of the file. The program's date and time in the DOS disk directory listing will have been updated to the current system date and time. The only text string visible within the Exunt viral code in infected programs is: "*.COM" Exunt doesn't do anything besides replicate.
