Its origin or point of isolation is unknown. Taurus is a non-resident, direct action infector of .COM files, including COMMAND.COM. When a program infected with the Taurus virus is executed, this virus will infect one .COM file located in the current directory. Infected programs will have a file length increase of 358 bytes with the virus being located at the end of the file. The program's date and time in the DOS disk directory listing will not be altered. The following text strings are visible within the viral code: "TAURUS (C) Prymityw 0.3" "*.COM" Known variant(s) of Taurus are: Taurus.1153: Received in January, 1996, this is a 1,153 byte variant of the Taurus virus described above. It infects one .COM file located in the current directory when an infected program is executed. Infected files will have a file length increase of 1,153 bytes with the virus being located at the end of the file. The program's date and time in the DOS disk directory listing will not be altered.
