Every week I used to lie down in front of the old chrome toshiba tape deck with my headphones on listening to BBC 1 Radio. It was the Top 40 Show and time to check out what was moving and shaking in the commercial music world.

I had a few blank tapes and constantly filled them up with crap I recorded from the tv and radio. Midway through 1987 I left the UK for Australia and taped over most of my UK recordings with various bits of aussie chart music. A few UK pieces have survived however.

I figured since I had two Top 10 countdowns from good old Bruno I may as well record them while I'm motivated since every one of my tape players chews tapes up randomly. The dates for the two countdowns are approximate (based on online charts) but should be close enough.

Back then (I was 10) I disliked most of the songs in both these top tens but having listened to a lot of them again and again over the years in some kind of remembrance ritual they've kind of grown on me.
