Hard to say in this case.  Netcom lets you register for a new account on 
line, and you get it automatically.  The spammer probably applied for a new 
account just to do this, knowing they would be immediately booted off.  In 
the mean time, a few people will buy disk drives from their posting, and 
they come out ahead.

I hope it doesn't work this way, but apparently that's what happened with 
the law firm that advertized for "green card" stuff this way.  They've even 
written a book recommending the technique.
