Judging a book by its cover

At issue: Is A.C. Crispin’s Time for Yesterday the geekiest book ever?

Exhibit A:

Time for Yesterday

The evidence:

The verdict: Time for Yesterday is, without a doubt, one geeky book. Ergo, it’s probably not in my best interest to be spotted reading it in public — especially while I’m administering a final exam to my students tomorrow morning.

Not only that, it is “Book 2″ in a series — meaning that you probably read the first “Yesterday Saga” and will read the next one and the next one and the next one…

Is there any way you can cover it? It’s probably paperback so I’m guessing no, but if it were hardcover I would swipe a more “respectable” dust jacket from a book the same size.

I say read it in all its glory. Play out geek to the fullest! I would. Though the Conan Barbarian Look-alike with the horse with a horn is a bit over the top…

    Proof I am a geek:

I have read this book at least twice.
This is one of my favorite ST books.
I know off the top of my head that this is the sequel to Yesterday’s Son.
I have also read that book at least twice.

There aren’t enough Star Trek plot featuring The Guardian of Forever, you know?

Amy, I have a really great paperback book cover that makes any paperback look like a plain black hardcover book. I bought it at a bookstore several years ago. It comes in handy while traveling and reading “unmanly” novels like Amy Tan and Barbara Kingsolver. It also keeps the book from getting too worn.
