Celeblogging

Yet again, I get the feeling that I’m at least a month behind the rest of the blogosphere here, but I stumbled across this blog earlier today. It’s written by someone claiming to be a well-known Hollywood actor, and the people who speculate about these things are speculating that the author could be Owen Wilson, Benicio Del Toro, or even George Clooney.
Sure, “Rance” is almost certainly a hoax (what fun would the blogosphere be without the occasional hoax and/or accusation thereof?), but it’s an interesting read nevertheless.

Having known a number of actors, it is highly unlikely that an actor would:
1) Do ANYTHING anonymously
2) Have enough time to blog
3) Do ANYTHING anonymously
4) Do something without being paid
5) Do ANYTHING anonymously
I have never met an actor who didn’t have a huge ego that needed constant feeding. I can’t imagine any of the actors I’ve ever known writing a blog. An actor wouldn’t get any satisfaction out of it. There may be an audience, but there’s no applause.
Actors like to talk about one subject — themselves! An actor/blogger could not resist writing about himself and his career (see wilwheaton.net).
Have I mentioned I HATE actors? Dating one will do that to you.
You raise a number of good points, Fritz.
