There and Back Again

Oh, I almost forgot to mention one of the best parts of my theater-going experience today. During the tense scene where Shelob is silently stalking Frodo, a guy in the audience stage-whispered to the screen, “Frodo, there’s a giant spider sneaking up behind you!” Normally, I’m not a fan of audience participation, but that one actually got a chuckle out of me for some reason.

There was a guy behind me quietly shouting “Get him! Get him!” during the same scene. He also quietly said “Duuude! That! ..is soooo awwwesome!” when the wave of ghosts were attacking the orcs. (sorry, I don’t know the proper Tolkein name of the ghosts)
That’s not cool. How can you cheer for the giant spider? At least the guy in my theater was on the right side.
Things not to do while watching LOTR
I woulda bet dollars to donuts that the line you referenced was from this list. I have seen this list duplicated everywhere at this point, and now I’m half afraid that I’ll run into it, regardless of which theatre I visit.
