I was in Circuit City on Tuesday and I saw the display that said $24.99 in huge numbers, so I picked up a copy and then in small print, I noticed it said “with $5.00 mail-in rebate when you purchase the theatrical version of the film.” So I put it back. I’m just not ready to commit to $29.99. I’ll go to CostCo later.
But, what are they thinking? Who would want both the regular DVD and the extended DVD? That’s just stupid. The Fellowshop of the Ring Extended DVD came with free movie tickets to see The Two Towers. Where’s the free tickets for Return of the King?! Slackers!
I also really want to buy the Return of the King game because it looks awesome, but we haven’t even finished the Fellowship of the Ring game and our copy of the Two Towers game hasn’t even arrived yet. So I guess I should just wait and buy it used after we’ve played the others.
Wow…what was Circuit City thinking? At Best Buy here in Athens, TTT:EE was $24.99 (with the $5 rebate bringing it down to $19.99). I double-dipped last time around and bought the theatrical version of Fellowship because I couldn’t wait for the extended edition. This time, I knew better (since I immediately ditched the theatrical version of Fellowship after I saw the extended edition for the first time).
