I guess it would actually be funnier if the journal actually emulated one that might be kept by that joker Polk, but anyway…
Believe it or not, I stumbled across that same blog just yesterday. Kooky. And, on a related note, I’m teaching about the presidency and presidential popularity this Friday in class–and you can bet that James K. Polk is going to get plenty of coverage.
But are you going to procure a simian mascot? Or at least talk about various hominids?
You know, ever since I found out that having a pet monkey entails changing diapers several times a day, my enthusiasm has waned a bit.
