I really think that people are just giving up to easily... I think that there are so many things that could be done with the Space Quest series, it doesn't have to be a "traditional" adventure game.
I really think that Vivendi could make a killing out of creating newer style adventures of the SQ series. and they could still be REALLY fun.
I mean... wouldn't it be awesome to play a DS version of a Space Quest game with touch screen support... there are so many possibilities that I think people are forgetting.

keep in mind that with newer technology,... older game styles get left behind. that doesn't mean that old characters have to die out... just maybe the style that we are accustomed to seeing them portrayed.

and I think that someone should make a homebrew DS adventure game for one of those media card readers for DS.

I personally think it would be awesome to see what kind of sick and twisted mini games that could be made out of the space quest series with the DS touch screen.

As fun as it would be to play Space Quest on the DS or Wii, VU won't make a true Space Quest game. Look at LSL: they created a new installment to the series, but it's not really a LSL game.

but that wasn't the question... I mean if they made a direct sequel that would happened to be on the DS, and still had roger wilco, and still followed the story line. wouldn't that be cool. I think they could do it.

Yes, it would be cool if they did a direct sequel. I don't think they can do it.

Space Quest is nothing without the 2 (or 3) Guys.

If anything, they'd probably try their hands at a series reboot. That seems to be the popular thing these days.

I could imagine them remaking "The Sarien Encounter" (or a similar type of game) only as an action-adventure with more characters, more locations, an expanded story, and who knows what else. But it probably won't happen anytime soon.

What gets me is that they haven't cashed in on their "Quest for Glory" franchise. That series is better suited towards today's gamers than any of the other Sierra classics.

Meh, they'd just ruin it like they did with LSL. Rolling Eyes

Hopefully they'll just leave it be. It wouldn't be a true QFG title if the Coles weren't involved with it.
