Heck with it. I may not be able to do anything about banning them, but I can at least post their addresses so that future generations can.

I don't understand why they all come here! It's insane! As of my login, there's 12 guests on the board! The worst I saw was yesterday, something like 37 guests at one time! At least guest-posting is dasabled.

Yeah, it's crazy. One time I logged in a half-hour later after cleaning out a few out of them, and there was three pages worth of the buggers all over the place. I'm not even sure banning them would do anything since ones with new IPs keep showing up.

And you know it's bad when the spams get spam.

Seriously - where do these things keep coming from? Don't they hibernate in the winter or something?

Well, someone somewhere actually gets off by creating programs that register on webpages and post spam. I wouldn't know how they choose their targets...I used to get 5-6 spam posts per day on a forum I run for a local club, but they've stopped recently...I use proBoards, so maybe they added some prevention stuff to their boards.

Idk, is the Subspace Channel using the latest board software and all that jazz?

I think so. Didn't Jess update it recently?

Last I checked, he did. But that was months ago, so no.

Guilty on multiple counts of thinking pissing babies are more important than Space Quest.

The total number of e-mails sent globally has doubled in the past few months. This is probably part of the growth.

Dang it - what's Bill Gates doing with all his money about this? Where's his army of Microsoft ninja assassins? Cleaning spam out of everything I use and then complaining about it is starting to take up way too much of my time.

Hmmmm....

81.177.22.180 is a popular IP address. In fact, this one guy seems responsible for three-quarters of our current spam.

Diane, I'm gonna need ospreys. Lots of them. The kinds that can carry nuclear warheads. Use your connections. I want those birds on my desk by 1400 hours. Bitter, get me some warheads. Ghosthunters, buy plane tickets, travel to Free Country, USA, and ask Jess to ban that IP address - you're the only one who can reason with him.

The reason of you, follow me. The war on spam has just gone to orange.

I say add "DrXenon" (or whatever his username was) to that list. That name certainly tricked me into thinking that someone with that username posting on this message board was an actual SQ fan.

Unfortunately, he was already deleted before I got there.

Right now, there's someone called "GoldenMopstick" who may very well be a spambot too, except they actually put "Space Quest 6 XP" in their subject line and told us it ran well on their computer. These things are getting sneaky...

As for the new wave of spambots, I stopped copying them down when I noticed they were just recurring this number again: 81.177.22.180. Curse you, one person!

Thought it might be clever to post spam while I was writing the previous message.
