Quinto confirmed as Spock

It’s official: Zachary Quinto, best known for his role as the villainous Sylar on Heroes, has been cast as Mr. Spock in J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek reboot. I’m definitely cool with that. Internet rumors suggested early on that Adrian Brody might play the half-Vulcan science officer, but I think Quinto is a far better fit.
There’s no announcement yet on who will play Kirk, and Matt Damon has dismissed his attachment to the project as mere Internet speculation. I’m so attached to William Shatner in the role, I can’t think of a proper replacement. For whatever reason, my gut instinct is Christian Bale, but having him play both Batman and Captain Kirk would be too much of a nerdgasm even for me.
Who would you choose to play Kirk? How about Bones, Scotty, and the rest?

I’ve no casting suggestions. I’m still reeling from the fact that they’re doing a ‘reboot’. Aren’t you supposed to wait till the original actors are dead before you do that? It just seems very wrong. Also, I feel compelled to say that no matter who they get to play Kirk, Jean-Luc is still THE VERY BEST STARFLEET CAPTAIN EVER. You know it’s true.
Gary Sinise was rumored to be Bones last I heard. I’d be cool with that.
Shatner should play Kirk…like how they brought back Marlon Brando for Jor-El.

I have no idea who else besides bill shatner could play kirk. There’s just something about him… it’s… kirk.
but I think there would be some serious scrutiny going on there.
Patricia, while i am in half agreement that Jean Luc was probably the best captain ever, I have to say that Perhaps Will Riker as captain might be better than Jean Luc.
And well about Kirk…he’s Kirk! come on! Kirk!
Yoshi, you’re a heretic. Riker was, is and always will be a massive tool.
I’m really at a loss for casting though. Just thought I’d reaffirm how much Riker’s catch phrase should be “I suck.”
I bet Quinto will be great. I just hope they don’t do something stupid like Halle Barry as Uhura, or Paris Hilton as Nurse Chapel.
I want Samwise Gamgee to play Kirk.

I’ve never even watched star trek, but would see a movie featuring this cast.
