Beverage Report: Pepsi Summer Mix

I believe the unique flavor of Pepsi’s latest seasonal beverage, Pepsi Summer Mix, is best summed up by the following “infographic.”
The sweet, citrusy flavor caught me off guard at first, but as I finished the bottle, I couldn’t help but notice Pepsi Summer Mix is surprisingly refreshing for a cola. I’m not about to stock my fridge with 24-packs or anything, but it’s worth trying out if you’re curious. It’s perfect for: 1) cola drinkers who wish their Pepsi tasted a little more like Mountain Dew, or 2) people like me who see an unfamiliar soft drink label in the grocery store checkout line and can’t resist sampling it.

I think the last of those I tried was the Berry and Cream Dr. Pepper, which was FANTASTIC as a float.
I don’t like Mountain Dew OR Starburst, but I like Pepsi Summer Mix. I don’t think it tastes like either of those.

I always try to post a review of any wacky new soft drinks I can track down. I find them utterly irresistible (and I keep hoping that I’ll find another seasonal beverage as wonderful as Pepsi Holiday Spice from a couple of years ago).
Hmmm. Hate Pepsi, but love starburst. Guess I have to try it now. The Pepsi Jazz series are pretty good too. Like liquid candy.
You could try the Jones soda flavors for monthly/weekly try outs. Their holiday packs are (sometimes) yummy. We just had Banana Cream Pie flavor last night. Yum.
@Woman with Kids: It just so happens that I taste-tested the Jones 2006 Holiday Pack a few months back. I might have to seek out a few more Jones flavors in my never-ending quest to generate blog content, though.

A friend said it was good & left a pinapple-ly after taste that was pretty good.

This stuff tastes like my father’s Kiwi shoepolish smells - I am a devoted Pepsi fan, but this is just plain gaggy!
I think Pepsi Summer Mix is the best cola drink EVER!!! Tastes like rum and Pepsi I think.. but no alcohol involved in this yummi beverage.

I tried “Pepsi Summer Mix” today. Was that ever a mistake? It was the nastiest soda I have ever tasted. I threw-up and went to the bathroom for three hours.
I just SMELLED it. Honestly, it smells like vomit. Don’t people smell weird/new stuff? That’s animal instinct!!

im hoping that the summer mix stays i like the tast of summer mix im getting tired of reguler pepsi i think summer mix tast better then coke and regular pepsi i think summer mix is a refreshing new tast please keep making the summer mix.

Summer Mix doesn’t seem like Starburst or Mountain Dew. It’s like someone mixed the Caribbean with Pepsi.
Summer Mix is definitely way better than Pepsi Spice(basically Christmas Mix).

I can’t find it anymore! They used to have it at the gas stations around here, and now they haven’t had it for a couple of weeks. Does anybody know where Pepsi has contracts to sell it?

My son and I have both tried Pepsi Summer Mix and absolutely love it!!!! We’ve been buying it and drinking it in lieu of most other soda drinks since we found it. However, all of a sudden, we can’t find it anywhere. Not in our local 7-Eleven and our grocery stores, King Soopers or Safeway. Quite by mistakes, I dropped by Walgreen’s two days ago and by luck, I found eighteen bottles of Pepsi Summer Mix, needless to say, I bought all eighteen bottles. Please tell me that you have discontinued making my favorite drink and that either stores will once again start using it or that you are going to tell me how I can get some more because I am really desperate!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a diet soda drinker, but everytime I get the chance to buy summer mix, I do. To me, it tastes like grape pepsi. Regular(not diet) pepsi always seems to leave a heavy syrupy taste in my mouth. Summer mix is very refreshing.
Grape Pepsi? that just makes me sick to my stomach…… Blech
Just want to give a shout-out to Pepsi Summer Mix. I love the stuff and hope Pepsi keeps making it. I buy every 12 pack they put out at my local grocery store. I think I’m the only one drinking it!

Oh, Chris Armenta, and anyone else who wants it back… 1) let Pepsi know how much you love it; I called their customer feedback number and let them know. Nice lady was on the line; she said they’d received several such calls (And she loved it too). Let’s keep it up!
2) Here’s a bit of a recipe for at least a similar taste: Go to a Taco Bell that carries Mountain Dew Baja Blast. Buy a big cup of it with no ice so it won’t be dilluted. Mix it with regular or caffeine-free Pepsi. (I recommend a mix of about 3 parts Baja Blast to 2 parts Pepsi, but go by whatever tastes right). May not be perfect but it does come close!
I wish pepsi summer mix would come back! I just drank a can of it I was saving today! I hope they bring it back this comming summer!!
