The Ten Best Superhero Movies of All Time
Posted on May 2, 2007 @ 7:33 am
To celebrate the premiere of Spider-Man 3 this Friday, I thought I’d count down the top ten superhero movies of all time. Enjoy — and feel free to disagree in the comments section.
10. Blade
Vampires, sword fights, kung fu, more vampires — Blade is an excellent example of how to make a fun popcorn movie out of a relatively obscure, second-string character. A far better film than one might expect, Blade laid the groundwork for the superhero movie revival that began in the early 2000s.
9. Batman (1966)
Say what you will about the Batman series of the 1960s, but I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for Adam West’s campy portrayal of the Not-So-Dark Knight. This movie was released to theaters between the series’ first and second seasons, and features the Joker, the Penguin, Catwoman, and the Riddler teaming up to defeat the Dynamic Duo once and for all. This film also marked the debut of the handiest tool in Batman’s utility belt: the Bat Shark Repellent Spray.
8. Superman II
Why Superman II and not the original Superman? In my mind, there’s one thing that separates this 1980 sequel from the first installment in the series: the inclusion actual supervillains for Big Blue to fight. The Phantom Zone criminals give Supes a run for his money, making this the most enjoyable film in the series. Kneel before Zod!
7. X-Men
The whole “Magneto builds a machine to transform world leaders into mutants” storyline was a little corny, but the casting and characterization is so spot-on that it more than makes up for it. Ian McKellen and Hugh Jackman are especially well suited to their respective roles as Magneto and Wolverine. If only they had cast someone — anyone — other than Halle Berry as Storm.
6. Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
A film spun off from Batman: The Animated Series in 1993, Mask of the Phantasm far exceeds the Burton-era Batman films in terms of story quality and characterization. Worth checking out for Mark Hamill’s portrayal of the Joker alone.

5. X2: X-Men United
An improvement over the first X-Men film in almost every way. The story is far more engaging this time around — the X-Men and Magneto join forces to stop Col. William Stryker from decimating the mutant population — and the addition of Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler is a fanboy’s dream come true.
4. Spider-Man
Sam Raimi understands that what makes Spider-Man such a classic character isn’t the suit or the powers, but rather the kid under the mask. Peter Parker is a typical teenager who finds himself gifted with strange powers following a freak lab accident. When Peter’s inaction leads indirectly to his Uncle Ben’s death, he realizes that with great power comes great responsibility and dedicates himself to fighting crime as Spider-Man. What more could you ask for in a superhero origin? Throw in an inspired casting choice in the person of Tobey Maguire, and you have all the components of an outstanding superhero film.
3. The Incredibles
It’s almost a shame that Pixar managed to produce the perfect Fantastic Four movie before Marvel even had a chance.
2. Batman Begins
Dark, but not in that goofy “Tim Burton” way. Batman Begins strips the Batman mythos down to the brass tacks, while Christian Bale offers the most compelling live-action incarnation of the Dark Knight ever to grace the screen. Round out the cast with strong performances from Michael Caine as Alfred, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, and Liam Neeson as the villainous Ra’s al Ghul, and Batman Begins truly raises the bar for superhero movies.
1. Spider-Man 2
With the first film’s origin story out of the way, Spider-Man 2 jumps straight to the superheroics. Doctor Octopus is a far more interesting villain for Spidey’s second outing, and Peter’s struggle with bearing the mantle of Spider-Man evokes some of the finest moments from the comic book source material. The end result is what I consider the best superhero movie ever made.
Be sure to tune in Friday when I continue the celebration by counting down the ten worst superhero films of all time!

Hmmm… yep. Got ‘em all. Even put Spidey 2 as no. 1, and took Incredibles and Phantasm into account. Can’t say I’d really change this list at all, actually. Although personally I liked Blade II better because of Del Toro’s graphic take on the series, plus I liked watching the CGI dummies flail around. My list would be more like this:
10. Blade II (hurray for cheesy CGI dummies!)
9. X-Men (The one where Cyclops actually got to do things)
8. Batman Begins (Batman’s a ninja now!)
7. Superman II (especially the part where he throws his seran-wrap shield at the dude)
6. Spiderman (which I watched last night and want to kick Peter Parker for. I mean, come on - Mary Jane’s bedroom window is five feet away from his! No wonder everyone wants to be Spiderman - they all think they can do a better job than him.)
5. Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (The cartoon Batman has always been the most realistic for some reason.)
4. X2: X-Men United (Nightcrawler! Yay!)
3. Batman: The Movie (1966) (”What’s yellow and writes upside-down?” “A ball-point banana!” “Exactly, Robin! A direct threat to Miss Kitty!”)
2. The Incredibles (A bloody perfect movie in every sense.)
1. Spiderman 2 (Same deal here. Plus, it isn’t just Spiderman standing and punching half the time.)
I think Batman: Mask of the Phantasm should be replaced with Tim Burton’s Batman. I never thought Mask of the Phantasm was very good… it was more like the half hour show dragged out to a full length movie for me.
The campy Batman movie should be replaced with The Crow. I rented Batman back when I was really into the 60’s show and even then the movie didn’t impress me. And I personally liked Blade 2 better than the first Blade (c’mon, it was directed by Guillermo del freakin’ Toro). Speaking of del Toro, Hellboy possibly belongs somewhere on this list, but I can’t figure out where. Maybe since X2 was better than the first X-Men, it’s redundant to have the first one on the list.
@Datadog: Thanks for backing me up on Spider-Man 2. My wife almost threatened to leave me for not ranking Batman Begins number one.
@Monster: I went back and forth on Blade versus Blade 2 and eventually decided to include the first. That being said, if there was a number eleven spot in the countdown, I’d go with Blade 2. If there was a number twelve, Hellboy would be my next choice. The Crow, on the other hand? Not my favorite.
As much as I love the Crow, I wouldn’t put it on a top 10 superhero movie. I know the graphic novel, and I just have a hard time classifying it as a “superhero” story. I would definitely put Hellboy on that list, and Tim Burton’s Batman.
And while I can’t comment on Batman Begins (as I haven’t seen it), at #1? Oi. I’ll admit that I personally hate the character Spider-man, but I did enjoy the first film. The second one, however, I thought was absolutely terrible. My hope for the third movie being good is because Venom was always one of the best “characters” - and I root for it to win every time.
P.S. Not sure what tag I screwed up, but that’s supposed to read “Spider-Man 2 at #1?”
Jess, have you seen The Richard Donner Cut of Superman II? If not, I highly recommend it. It resolves a lot of the strange plot issues in the film.
My take:
http://www.jokerstotheright.com/2007/01/superman-ii-richard-donner-cut.html
I always thought the bit with the “spinning the earth backwards” in the first Superman movie was just the man of steel moving faster than the speed of light so he could go back in time and change things. So the only part that didn’t sit well with me was that he went back in time to save Lois, but couldn’t go far enough in the past to stop the missile from hitting California in the first place.
For that matter, if he can move that fast, why couldn’t he catch both missiles to begin with? If 24 has taught me anything, it would take at least a couple hours for both missiles to reach their targets anyway.
I do think that Spider-Man 2 is one of the best superhero movies as well.
I also hate, hate Halle Berry as Storm. I like her as an actress but she’s completely gotten away from the character.
Anyway, check out this video clip from the NY premiere of Spider-Man 3:
http://www.thenewsroom.com/details/253238/Entertainment
Loved all the movies you mentioned… but what about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?! The origninal?!!! Come on!!!!!
I would argue for the inclusion of The Specials. It’s a cut rate comedy, sure, but the characters are likable and believable. I can relate to Minute Man’s romantic life a lot more than I can relate to anything about Blade.
I know the Incredibles is a feat of CGI animation, but those Pixar-type movies almost always leave me cold.
@Thom: I agree with your thoughts on The Crow; it’s not really what I’d call a “superhero” story either. Hellboy, on the other hand, definitely deserves an honorable mention. As for Tim Burton’s Batman, I’m personally not a fan. Jack Nicholson’s Joker has his moments, but Michael Keaton as Batman — and especially Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne — never worked for me. In fact, I actually prefer Batman Forever to either of the Tim Burton Batman movies. That’s just me, though.
@Ryan: I still haven’t seen the Donner cut of Superman II, but it’s on my Netflix queue.
@Datadog: That’s always the problem with time travel…how can you ever lose if you can just keeping going back and doing it over again? If I were Superman, I would have flown around the Earth enough times to travel back and kill Lex Luthor’s grandfather, thus stopping the missiles and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace.
@Mami: Hmm…I guess I wasn’t thinking of the Turtles as superheroes, per se. Besides, I’m not sure if they’d crack my top ten anyway. Again, that’s just me, though.
@Joefish: I haven’t seen The Specials. I’ll have to check it out.
@Chris: The Incredibles is the only Pixar movie I really love. Generally speaking, I prefer traditional animation to CGI.
Superman 2 is my fav too, i love that she finds out for a second about Clark Kent/Superman and I love the super villans. Good stuff.
Nice list
Okay, I need to know what the big deal is about Halle Berry as Storm. Granted, she shouldn’t have done Catwoman, but I like her. You say that they should’ve chosen ANYONE else. So, anyone else like…Personally, I don’t think anyone else would’ve looked right.
I do like your choice of Superman II, though. That’s the one where he gives up his powers to “try” and live a normal life with Lois, right? IF that’s number two, then that’s the one I like.
i cant imagine being forced to watch half those movies.
the incredibles is at BEST a mediocre movie for a CG cartoon, which isn’t saying much as there have only been MAYBE two or three of them that have been palatable.
why the adam west 1966 batman? this must be a joke. the 1989 batman should still come in the top 5.
i’ve never been able to stand superman at all. if ever there were a more boring, one-dimensional character, super-hero or not, none spring to mind.
and I must agree with a previous poster, blade 2 tops the original blade in every way that matters.
kudos on putting mask of the phantasm on the list tho. good pick.
I somewhat agree with Monster’s comment about adding the very first Batman to your list.
I did go, “YES! SOMEONE ELSE REMEMBERS MASK OF THE PHANTASM!!!” when I read the post though, so I clearly think that should stay too.
I was so completely obsessed with that Batman series. I used to run home after high school and turn on the WB or whatever no matter WHAT. I even bought this big glossy book that has all kinds of info about the series and the artwork. It’s rad.
Oh no. I’ve exposed the secret that I’m a closet comics/cartoon geek. Tell no one of this.
No Mystery Men? Boo
Hey, Mystery Men rocks. It was an excellent parody - not quite as good as Galaxy Quest but still fun.
And “the incredibles is at BEST a mediocre movie for a CG cartoon”? Absolutely wrong. I understand that some people might not enjoy CG, but it was a very well done movie. And if you enjoy comics and superheroes in general I don’t know how you couldn’t enjoy it.
@Celise: My major beef with Halle Berry’s performance is that Storm is such a strong, regal character in the comics (e.g. she was worshiped as a goddess in her native Kenya). As a result, she has a rather unique voice in a medium not known for strong, independent female characters. I just didn’t feel like Halle Berry brought any of that to her performance. Maybe it was the script, or maybe it was the director…but someone should have rethought that portrayal. Especially the whole “what happens to a toad when it’s struck lightning” quip.
@brandon: No love for The Incredibles? Personally, I thought it was incredi-great.
@Geoff and Thom: I actually liked Mystery Men, but it’s not in my personal top ten. That being said, I love William H. Macy’s quote: “God gave me a gift. I shovel well. I shovel very well.”
I totally agree on the Halle Berry front. I was disappointed the instant she was announced. Yes, I am that lame. Personally I pictured someone like Angela Bassett. Maybe I’m wrong, but I was also always under the impression that Storm was older, and more like a mother figure (a hot mom, but a mom nonetheless).
As for MM - I wouldn’t put it in my top 10 either. But I had to make sure no one was going to disparage a movie with lines like “I don’t need a compass to know which way the wind shines.”
@thorn/jess: I guess I couldn’t really get into the Incredibles that much since I’m over the age of 12. The premise is that of The Watchmen (superheroes outlawed, etc) which I love, but I guess my favorites are the ones that take the ideas seriously. Superhero movies that stand on their own as FILMS as well, which is a pretty novel idea and only really has been seen in the last decade or so (since blade I dare say).
The batman cartoon and mask of the phantasm batman continuity takes the premise and the characters completely seriously, and the show has a great atmosphere.
I didn’t HATE incredibles, but I don’t see it being clever beyond that of a self-consciously clever CG cartoon. The characters are all pretty obvious ripoffs of namable superheroes, which is tacky, and unlike x-men/spider man/heck even blade, I don’t have my experience with the characters within the comic book world to draw on and care about.
In short I can’t enjoy any movie in which I can’t care about the characters, and IMHO the characters in Incredibles have about as much gravitas as Mickey Mouse.
@Meatrace: I can see where you’re coming from; in the end, it’s all just a matter of opinion in terms of what makes a good superhero movie. I like my superhero movies to be fun, which is why I gravitate toward films like The Incredibles and Spider-Man (and away from Tim Burton’s Batman movies).
That being said, we agree 100 percent on Mask of the Phantasm. The atmosphere really is perfect. As good as I thought Batman Begins was, there are still some elements of the animated series that are tough to beat.
I loved The Incredibles too.
I liked both Spiderman and Spiderman II (I’d have to watch Spidey 2 again to see which one I liked better).
I liked all 3 X-Men movies.
I liked Batman 1989 and Batman Begins for taking the character seriously. I did not like the Adam West Batman movie (though I loved the tongue-in-cheek series as a kid - I couldn’t sit through 90 minutes of it).
I loved Superman for Christopher Reeve’s portrayal, for its great musical score, and for taking superheroes “seriously” for the first time and making a compelling epic out of it. That first scene of him saving Lois and the helicopter still gives me a thrill. I’m willing to overlook some of the cheese and the plot holes because of this. I also loved Superman II almost but not as much (have yet to see the Donner cut).
Ok, I guess that makes 10. Though that isn’t in any particular order…
This list is definetly a list of this generation. “Spiderman 2″ doesn’t deserve to be #1. I think it should “Superman” should be #1 because it was on of the first feature films to be respectful of the comics. It was the basis for how superhero movies should be made. Tim Burton’s “Batman” deserves to be on the list over “Batman(1966)” and “Phantasm” mainly because it help relaunch and set the tone of the franchise. Glad one of the “X-Men” movies made not so sure if both “Spiderman” movies deserve to be on there. The ranking is disputable on some but you picked mainly the better superhero films.
The best “Batman” movie comes down between “Batman” and “Batman Begins”. Both are totally different in ideas and storytelling of the character. “Batman Begins” is a movie about Bruce Wayne rather than Batman. It seemed to be a prequel to a new Batman franchise, so I could see “The Dark Knight” being much better than “Begins” because “Begins” felt more like a setup for what is to come. Tim Burton’s “Batman” was just really good as a film and restoring dignity back to the character. “Batman Forever” was a good depction of the character, and if you look at the style it is a precusor to the style of superhero films like “Spiderman”. It has that cool comic book feel with the colors and good fun about it.
Spider-man 2 felt like a mish-mashed, heavy-handed, overblown attempt at exploiting the old “superheroes must live lonely lives” theme. You can’t have 2 hours devoted to that theme alone. You just can’t. Batman Begins was much better; it is my favourite live-action superhero movie. However, Mask of the Phantasm truly is the best superhero movie ever. It’s universal entertainment that captures the fun of the comic book, the dark and depressing nature of the characters’ roots and the sleek, timeless visual style that helps keep the mythology eternally alive and popular. Plus it has a modest running time, a terrific score and the best cast of ANY superhero movie, cartoon or not. You just can’t beat Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill.

Begins was WAY goofyer the any batman movie im so sick of you NEWfans who just think cause this movie is more serious its so great an that you have to put shit on burton well burton’s batman was 100 times better then begins that craporama
Spiderman 2 is greatest, no matter what people say. Begins was good too, but with too many characters, and it just doesn’t live up to the old Tim Burton films. Spiderman 2 had the perfect balance of character, plot, and action. It is the greatest superhero movie ever, and one of the best movies ever.
some really good choices there.
i’d probably have added in the crow (first one), sin city (best comic adaptation ever). blade (the whole trilogy, but esp. the first) was freakin’ awesome. spider-man 1 and batman begins; i think that the 1966 batman (although entertaining) suffered from the same problems as the latter batmen and x-movies: too many characters, not enough time to give everyone equal billing.
What!!!!!!!! BATMAN BEGINS is the best superhero ever No other superhero film is better than batman begins. you fools
Well, I thought Mask Of the Phantasm was just the animated series strechted out to and hour and fifteen minutes.
Freakin comicbook nerds creaming there pants over batman begins face it that movie was a 2 hour sleeping pill
Cuervo- I like Batman Begins, but I have to admit it was a bit uninteresting at times. I really prefer the Spider-Man films instead.
By the way, Jess, what do you think about Spider-Man 3?
LOL i will admit that i was a bit wrong to say what i said before bb is ok for the most part i just don’t like when people bad mouth a good movie because a newier one comes out and then make a stupid reason to try an stick up for it but i will have to agree that the spiderman movies are the best comic-movie out there at the moment.
I cannot believe what I am hearing. Batman begins is bar none the best superhero genre film to date hands down. It was the most mature, the smartest, the most serious and the darkest superhero film ever made. Batman begins is the Gladiator comparison of sci-fi superhero genre films. Other films like spider-man lacked seriousness at times or it was at times to happy go lucky spider-man. Batman begins gets to the point with also an incredible original score/soundtrack. You know the dark, well composed orchestral type music. Not to mention it was an Academy award nominee for best cinematography which is a huge category and accomplishment. It also should have been nominated for the academy awards for best original score, best sound effects and especailly visual effects. How many other sci-fi/superhero genre film has gotten recognition from the Academy? Not many.
By the way Cuervo, you and all the other spider-man nerds clearly don’t know anything about good film making. None of the spider-mans were even on the same scale of filmaking and editing an cinematography as Batman Begns. not only was batman begins a good sci-fi/superhero movie but it van rival the film-making and and acting of a lot of just pure dramtic movies. Really in batman begins, bataman is not really a superhero at all. he is a lone wolf: a vigilante and the really the entire movie is to dark, to mature and to flawlessly well made to be even gategorized as a happy go lucky superhero film like spiderman. Batman begins is a picture perfect sci-fi/crime thriller movie.
Idris- WOW carm down just because someone has a different opinion to you dosn’t mean you have to bust a nut don’t be such a bitchy little nerd batman begins is an good movie an only as good as others but it is far from being the darkest its is prob the 3rd darkest in the serious after batman returns and batman(89). It’s basicly made for comicbook fans an most of the fans of this movie are just comic book fans or people that have only seen this one an jumped on the bandwagon cause its the popular batman at the moment but its still not a bad movie i feel its not the best in the serious because of the realism im mean the storyline is a dude that dresses like a bat an one look at his list of badguys tells you that its got a non-real story to it an thats what let bb down it was trying to be so real it ruined alot of thing like the badguys costume was just a potatoe sack an this will never win an academy award an the closest it will get is just because people will feel bad heath ledger is dead an pretty much every thing you said about lone wolf an crap can be said about any superhero movie…..an bty the crow is the best sci-fi/crime thriller movie EVER.
Look man, Batman Begins speaks for itself. If you take a poll or a survey over the internet of what Superhero movie is the best of all-time to date 8 times out of ten, Batman begins would win. Just go to Imdb.com and check out the facts. Batman Begins currently Holds at an outstanding 8.3/10 stars and is 102 on Imdb’s top 250 BEST films of all-time, beating out such critically acclaimed films like Gladiator and Platoon. In fact Batman Begins is the only superhero movie ever to even make Imdb’s top 250 Best films of all-time besides the Incredibles but that movie doesn’t even count just because of the fact that is and animated movie and I don’t even know why it’s on anyones list of best superhero movies of al-time. Now I’m not saying BB is better than those two movies but you get my point. This means no spider-man, no X-men, no hulk, no superman Has and to this date have even cracked Imdb’s top 250 films
Just for the record Sean Micheal, In high school I was an elite wrestler. and at my weight class at 130 my senier year I could bench press 285 pounds and could probably beat the shit out of you. How is that for a bitch.
Batman begins is a carefully thought out and consummately well-made piece of work, a serious comic-book adaptation that is driven by story, psychology and reality, not special effects.
Technically, the film is consistently impressive. It creates a grimly gothic vision of a crime-ridden and depression-ravaged Gotham City, a dandy pair of chase sequences involving the new generation Batmobile and a range of innovative visual effects.
All the other comic book movies like spider-man X-men etc. Overwhelm their movies with special effects and pointless, mindless action that gets boring after a while. Batman begins is the only comic book film that puts the emphasis on Good acting, good storytelling and an exceptionally mature and intellegent plot that dosen’t look like and 10 year old could come up with. BB only illustrates necessary superb effects and action sequences.
Listen dude it’s just a movie an if you actully check the boards on imdb you will know there are just as many mabye even more people that will admit that bb is a good movie but not the best out of all the batman movies out there some will say it is some will say not, it all just comes down to PERSONAL OPINION the whole world isn’t just aload to have yours you do know an some people like spider-man an x-men who are you to say otherwise a NOBODY thats who face facts bb is good dark knight will be better an 89′ is the best EVER.
LOL an the fact the you think that you have to try an threaten me into thinking your way not only make look pathetic but makes me think that you made it was all up cause kids usally think wrestling is cool an tough an scary even if you did yourself a little oylmpic wrestling in high school god i hope it was olympic or i will rofl an btw HERES SOME TRUTH FOR YOU i am a real fighter not one of your little school yard slap fights or vg fights i have trained in boxing for 5 years an am now training in martial arts with a 3 time WORLD champ that never was never defeated for his title an would hurt you bad if my friends hadn’t put you in hospital already YES us in the real world have friends.
You really need to grow up an except the fact that people have there own opinion or else you will never be respeated so go on try an defend your beloved movie AAAAGGGGAAAAIIIINNNN try an tell me that you could beat me in 1 punch if it makes you feel like a big man or you can try writing back when you fell like having an adult convo.
An also that fact that most of your argument relays on imdb is sooo funny i almost split my ribs laughing imdb is a great place to learn about actors, movie trivia but the top 250 is laughable its done by people voteing so mr nanny could reach 1# an even most people are admiting now that they added a 10/10 before the movie is out which there are doing it once again with the dark knight only for the reason that they are just kids caught in the hype an know nothing about batman an are chageing there vote which is pretty sad. Some people are actully wiseing up an giving the other batman movies the rating the deserve an there is proof all over the boards. How is that for a bitch?
Its painfully clear that you don’t know anything an are just a hypocritical nolan fanboy mark that will put down any other movie that you feel is not as good and are caught in the hype with the rest of the 12-21 year olds that praise this movie. If bb is as groundbreaking as you claim it to be the why isn’t it in the top 5? why isn’t it highier then T2 or ironman?, you fans make me sick you for gods sake you marks have given the dark knight a rateing of 4.5 out of 5 with over 1300 votes on flixter/facebook movie rankings and the fucking movie isn’t even out yet giving a movie high rating with only a trailer to go on if thats not over rated then what is. Now don’t get me wrong i have nothing agaisnt bb or tdk but to go to the extremes that you marks do is just to pathetic always putting hate on new movies that you feel will challange your beloved franchise like TIH,IM ect face facts not everyone is going to be pulled into the hype an suck nolan the jackson wannabie’s sack. An you say that bb is the first batman no sorry first superhero movie to have recognition from the Academy? well you do have a brain don’t you batman 1989 actully won an Academy Award along with another 7 wins & 16 nominations so that puts a damper on thing doesn’t it?. As for the dark knight as much as i do want to see it an it does look good the following behind it is just sad, makes me start to dislike bb to a BaR level. An a steller cast more like overated miscast yes Christian Bale is a good actor but he is not on the level of kevin spacy or edward norton that you marks claim he is, heath ledger as much as i am a real fan of his (yes there are real fans people loved him before he was TDK yes we are around even if you marks won’t hear of it) his final performace is looking very good but is sadly extremely overated by people saying “he deserves an oscar” “finally the right joker” let me tell you somthing the joker was never a self mutilating crack addect which seems to be the only joker that would fit into nolans crappy realism which has already ruined both villans from bb and anyone that says he death has nothing to do with it is a lair he was a great actor an i was one of his biggest an longest fans but even i will admit that he is no Jack Nicholson no one actor has risen to that level, cillian WHO???, an michael caine one of the greatest actor that ever lived is extremely miscast as a cockney alfred? don’t get me wrong i love michael caine he is even one of 2 actors i was named after but just wrong for the part but then again he has stated he will do any movie if the price is right jaws 4 anyone, Gary oldman is always grat value but his gordon was horrible driving that gayass frank miller wet dream batank come on what are we 8, an giving legendry actors Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman a whole 15 minutes my god, an don’t get me started on the worlds cornest quotes “why do we fall”, “im not gonna kill you but i don’t have to save you” ect. This will be the last time i write since i you know do have a life with way better things todo then but heads with yet another stupid ignorant fanboy mark hypocrite.
[...] Side note: Spider-man 2 is not as good as the original, in my opinion. People apparently disagree. WIW seems to have copied the AOL list, almost exactly, with Spider-man 2 and Batman Begins taking the [...]
How about crackhead Whitney Houston as Storm? Would THAT have been acceptable to you, DORK???

Okay First of all seam michael. you sound vey stupid cusing, critizing, and getting all angry about everthing an anyone. I went back and watched all the previous batman movies, and for anyone to compare them to BB is just iresponsible, ludacris, and just plane blasphamene. They are cheezing, boring, and very lame. Not once did i say christian bale was as good as actor as Kevin spacey or edward norton. those are oscar winning and oscar nominated actors but, I do think christian bale is the most underated actor in the world next to joaquin phoenix.
Just to clear something up. I just researched every renown critc I could find Including Ebert an Roeper, most if not all agree that bb is the best superhero film by far and certainly the best batman movie ever made.
the problem is you are hypocitical. you are so in love with the 1989 batman movie you will go to extremes to nitpick and say any little stupid blasphamene thing you could find about BB Which I think you know that BB is the best of all-time you just have trouble admiting it because your in love with the corny, cheezy, boring,1989 batman film. I ‘ve never heard or read any citic or actor or director, critsize batman begins or even to the extent that you are,it just shows that you are just upset and letting your emotions get the best of you. Also T2 is not even a superhero movie. yes it has a better rating than bb according to imdb.com but its not a superhero movie. And to say that batman begins is not in the top five is absolutly incredible iresponsible. I searched every superhero website and every movie site I could find and bb is in every single top five category, most of the time 1 or 2. You idiot even this website has bb at #2. so what are you talking about. And just for the record I have read every early review i could find on the dark knight I have to say they are some the best reviews i ever seen. For example director Kevin smith said and i qoute the dark knight is an absoulute masterpiece. It is the godfather 2 of comic book films and he thinks heath will get an oscar nominaton. and to add to that I’ve seen every full length trailor and I am 100% positive christopher nolan will get an oscar nomination for best director and the film will get more oscar nominations. this film looks Academy award worthy in every way. Also another cirtic said the dark knight is awe inspiring, history making, and groundbreaking in every and said it is one of the best movies he’s ever seen. the bottom line is when it is all said and done, the dark knight will be undisputedly the best comic book/superhero film of all-time by far.
I love that the Phantasm made it on the list!!!
