Quote of the Whenever: No Disassembly Required

Posted on June 2, 2005 @ 2:19 pm

“It seemed like to me they based some of their decisions on the word of — and the allegations — by people who were held in detention, people who hate America, people that had been trained in some instances to disassemble — that means not tell the truth.”

President George W. Bush, responding to
criticisms of America’s treatment of detainees
during a press conference on May 31, 2005

I’m not trying to come off like Joe Vocabulary here, Mr. President, but I think you meant dissemble. You know, sometimes I think he’s just messing with us.

I think you misunderestimate the presidential vocabulary, Jess. ;)

Even if you don’t agree with his politics, you can at least appreciate the humor in the words he uses incorrectly and the ones he just makes up as he goes.

The “he’s playing dumb” theory isn’t new, so you’re not alone if you really think he says these things on purpose. It doesn’t make as much sense to me any more, though, since he doesn’t have another election to win. But perhaps he’s going to create a new position…”Empredent” or “Presitor” are some cool possibilities. Bow down to Presitor Bush and his awesome, red…er, red, white, and blue power!!!
