One last bit of holiday nonsense

I love me some Christmas music, but I’ll be the first to admit that not all holiday songs are created equal. If you could choose one Christmas song never to have to hear again in your life, what would it be? For me, it’s no contest: “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer.” Ugh.

Aw… I love “Grandma”!
Although, and please forgive me Jess, it’s mostly because working in retail for several years has given me such an aversion to Christmas music that the only bits of it I can stomach consist, for the most part, of the funny, irreverent tunes.
If I had to limit myself to only one Christmas song I wish I’d never hear again I think it would be “Jingle Bells”, for the simple fact that it’s the one that comes out the most annoying when little kids try to sing it.
(flashes back to numerous occasions of kids yelling “Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the way!” over and over and over again on the bus and hides under her desk whimpering)
Not even close…the worst one *ever* is “Feliz Navidad.” Ack.
Probably something involving Mariah Carey. No, no. That Beach Boys one. That one drives me freakin’ crazy.
Anything by Donna Lou…she’s a local singer and EVERYONE around here plays her over and over and over at christmas.
Santa Baby would be a close second…
I have to agree with Chewie that ‘Santa, Baby’ is just, well, horrible. I mean you go from fat man with eating habits that would make diabetics dead faster than Michael Jackson can find himself alone with a young boy to some sort of sex object. I dunno, there’s lots of crappy stuff coming out for pop artist’s to sing for ‘holiday singles.’ Tough choice.
“It’s Christmas at Ground Zero” I could go forever and not hear. A shame it is an ear worm dont you think??
Love and Light
I dunno. I had to hear “I farted on Santa’s lap” a million times this year. Hence, it has become my nemesis.
Hee.
Hope you had a happy holiday season!

While these are all bad, they really hold no Christmas candle to the all time worst:
‘Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time’ by Paul McCartney.
Actually, Im not sure that’s the ACTUAL title but I fear that if I Google it, I just may retch! He should be UN-knighted for that one!
Feliz Navidad by Jose Feliciano.
Hands down the worst.
Mine is “Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time”. Paul wrote many a classic songs in his time. This was not one of them.
