The snozberries taste like snozberries!

The recently-released trailer for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory starring Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka: disturbingly brilliant or brilliantly disturbing?

And why do I suspect that song (”Willy Wonka! Willy Wonka! The amazing chocolatier!”) will become a fixture in my nightmares in the weeks and months ahead?

There will never be a Willy Wonka as good as Gene Wilder. Sorry. It’s a fact. Johnny Depp may have been brilliantly disturbingly brilliant in Edward Scissorhands, but no one beats the original Willy Wonka. No way.

Should be another interesting Depp-Burton production and I’m sure Helena Bonham Carter could only make it moreso.

“…and I’m sure Helena Bonham Carter could only make it moreso.”

Unless she’s playing an Oompa Loompa. ;)

I just wrote about this on my blog. Is it just me or does Depp’s Wonka seem a bit fey?

I am looking forward to this version, very much so. It is important to note that Roald Dahl - the author of the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - hated the original attempt. By virtue of the fact that a Dahl heir is listed as an Executive Producer, and that the title of the film matches that of the book, I expect this to be a much truer vision of Dahl’s work.

I still would have loved to see Christopher Walken in the role, but I think he’s too old for the part now.

P.S. Roald Dahl HATED children, remember. This is supposed to be a creepy story.

Wow.. I have been watchin this trailer for 4 hours straight and still it cracks me up every time!! omg i cant wait till this comes out.. whoever made that trailer is a genius.. its the best movie trailer I’ve ever seen and made me laugh harder than any other one.. its almost like a mini movie and a halarious one at that!! as to tim burton only wanting the money out of the remake, this is what his reason was: “Well, I don’t want to crush people’s childhood dreams, but the original film is sappy,” Burton says. “It’s sappy when it shouldn’t be sappy and it’s weird. Let’s just say it’s not one of my personal favorites. I’d rate ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ much higher.” i read that and burst out laughing because for the first time i realized that its true so totally true!!! i am so happy that tim and johnny are making this movie and i do think it may win some awards!!!(hopefully)

good luck to johnny on winning the golden globe and to finding neverland on winning best movie
