National Treasure

National Treasure scores an impressive 8.5 out 10 on the Apropos of Something Dumb Fun-O-Meter™. In case you’re curious, the film stars the Tolerable Nicolas Cage (Raising Arizona, Matchstick Men) as opposed to the Good Nicolas Cage (Adaptation, Leaving Las Vegas) or the Unbearable Nicolas Cage (Gone in Sixty Seconds, Con Air).
My top ten movies of 2004 follow after the jump.
10. The Ladykillers
9. National Treasure
8. Anchorman
7. Spider-Man 2
6. Dodgeball
5. Kill Bill: Vol. 2
4. Garden State
3. Fahrenheit 9/11
2. I Heart Huckabees
1. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

I have seen only one of those movies, and it ranks as my #1 movie of the year. Can you guess which it is…?
What is your basis for including Fahrenheit 9/11?
Nicholas Cage is more god than man.
Ryan: You mean an evil god, like Loki?
JP: I’ll be the first to admit that F9/11 has its fair share of problems (like the occasional “truth deficit”), but it’s a powerful film nonetheless — even if you don’t agree with Michael Moore’s agenda.
David: I’ll take a wild guess and say…Spider-Man 2?
