General Comments:
The Nanite virus was received in July, 1994. Its origin or point of
isolation is unknown. Nanite is a non-resident direct action over-
writing virus which infects .COM and .EXE programs.
When a program infected with the Nanite virus is executed, this
virus will infect some of the .COM and .EXE programs located in the
current directory. Infected programs will have the first 332 bytes
of the program overwritten by the Nanite viral code. The file's
date and time in the DOS disk directory listing will not be altered.
The following text string is visible within the viral code in all
Nanite infected programs:
"NaNiTe *.EXE *.COM"
Programs infected with the Nanite virus will be permanently corrupted
by the infection. They should be deleted and replaced with a clean,
uninfected backup copy.
