General Comments:
The Deranged virus was submitted in April, 1993. Its origin or
point of isolation is unknown. Deranged is a non-resident, direct
action infector of .EXE programs.
When a program infected with the Deranged virus is executed, the
Deranged virus will infect all of the .EXE programs located in the
current directory. Beeping on the system speaker may then occur,
and/or possibly a system hang.
Programs infected with the Deranged virus will have a file length
increase of 419 bytes with the virus being located at the end of
the file. The program's date and time in the DOS disk directory
listing will not be altered. The following text strings are
visible within the viral code in all Deranged infected programs:
"*.EXE .."
"The Deranged Virus 1.0"
"Criminal Behaviour"
