General Comments:
The Beta virus was received in December, 1991. Its origin is
unknown. Beta is a non-resident, direct action infector of .COM
programs. It does not infect COMMAND.COM.
When a Beta virus infected program is executed, the Beta virus will
infect up to three .COM programs located in the current directory.
Infected .COM programs will have a file length increase of 1,117
bytes. The virus will be located at the end of the infected file.
There will be no change to the file's date and time in the DOS
disk directory listing. No text strings are visible within the
viral code in infected files.
It is unknown if Beta does anything besides replicate.
