General Comments:
The Barcelona virus was received from Barcelona, Spain, in
December, 1991. Barcelona is a memory resident infector of .COM
programs based on the Jerusalem virus.
When the first Barcelona infected program is executed, the
Barcelona virus will install itself memory resident as a low
system memory TSR of 2,096 bytes. It will have hooked interrupt
21.
Once Barcelona is memory resident, it will infect .COM programs
when they are executed. Infected programs will have a file length
increase of 1,792 bytes with the virus being located at the
beginning of the file. The file's date and time in the DOS disk
directory will have been updated to the current system date and
time when infection occurred.
