UnExe is a non- resident, direct action infector of .COM programs, including COMMAND.COM. It also deletes .EXE programs. When a program infected with the UnExe virus is executed, the UnExe virus will infect one .COM program located in the current directory. If COMMAND.COM is located in this directory, it may become infected. Infected programs will have a file length increase of 425 bytes with the virus being located at the end of the file. The program's date and time in the DOS disk directory listing will have been updated to the current system date and time when infection occurred. The following text strings are visible within the UnExe viral code in all UnExe infected programs: "*.COM *.EXE" "Viru" "1 /M" "????????COM" The UnExe virus will delete one .EXE program located in the current directory each time an infected program is executed.
