General Comments:
The The Click virus was received in July, 1994. Its origin or point
of isolation is unknown. This virus is a non-resident, direct action
.COM file infector. It can also infect COMMAND.COM.
When a program infected with The Click virus is executed, this virus
will infect one .COM file located in the current directory. Infected
programs will have a file length increase of 291 bytes with the virus
being located at the end of the file. The program's date in the DOS
disk directory listing will not be altered, but the time field will
have been set to "2:24a". The following text strings are visibile
within the viral code in all infected programs:
"The Click"
"*.com"
"????????COM"
Execution of infected programs will result in a click-type sound
being emitted on the system speaker.
