General Comments:
The Quirk virus was submitted in October, 1992. Its origin or
point of isolation is unknown. Quirk is a non-resident spawning
or companion virus.
When a program infected with the Quirk virus is executed, the
Quirk virus will infect two or more .EXE programs in the
current directory. The .EXE programs themselves are not altered,
rather the virus creates a 9,977 byte .COM file in the same
directory with the same base file name. The newly created .COM
files are not hidden, and will have the file date and time in the
DOS disk directory listing set to the system date and time when
infection occurred.
It is unknown if Quirk does anything besides replicate.
