General Comments:
The Piazzolla virus was received from Argentina in July, 1992. This
virus is a memory resident infector of .COM programs, but not
COMMAND.COM.
When the first Piazzolla infected program is executed, the Piazzolla
virus will install itself memory resident as a low system memory TSR
of 1,200 bytes. Interrupt 21 will be hooked by the virus.
Once Piazzolla is memory resident, it will infect .COM programs
other than COMMAND.COM when they are executed. Piazzolla infected
programs will have a file length increase of 874 bytes. The virus
will be located at the beginning of the infected program. The
file's date and time in the DOS disk directory listing will not
be altered. The following text strings can be found within the
viral code in all Piazzolla infected programs:
"Piazzolla"
"COMMANDCOM"
"PIAZZOLL.$$$"
Piazzolla doesn't do anything besides replicate.
